Aquaculture, reimagined for the future
Discover how water recirculation, better farm management and digital technology can support productive aquaculture, responsible resource use and skilled livelihoods in Rajam and beyond.
Explore the water journey
Culture tanks
Fish or shrimp are held at planned densities. Feed enters here, and waste, ammonia and carbon dioxide are produced here.
Mechanical filtration
Drum filters or screens remove faeces and uneaten feed before they break down and consume oxygen.
Biological filtration
Nitrifying bacteria on filter media convert toxic ammonia to nitrite, then to far less toxic nitrate.
Gas management
Carbon dioxide is stripped from the water and oxygen is added through aeration or pure oxygen.
Additional conditioning
Where required: UV or ozone disinfection, pH and alkalinity correction, and temperature control.
Pumping, return and monitored reuse
Treated water is pumped back to the tanks while sensors track oxygen, temperature, pH and flow.
